Floatation REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique, also known as the act of simply being in a Float Tank) was used to test a theory about post-exercise recovery. The goal was to determine if a one hour flotation R.E.S.T. session would aid in the recovery process following maximal eccentric knee extensions and flexions. There were many things measured pre and post-study, but results showed flotation R.E.S.T. appears to have a significant impact on blood lactate and perceived pain compared to a one hour passive recovery session in untrained healthy males.
